Poststamp: Lexington, VA Mrs Mary Trevey Fincastle Virginia Millbrook VA March 30th 1851 Dear sister I take my seat to let you know the painful news, that my dead wife Dianah is no more. She departed this life last Thursday mor -ning about 15 minutes after 11. She seemed to have no fears about death, But was perfectly willing to go, she said that her death would be our loss but her eternal gain. She repeated several verses of hymns. The family was called in she told them that she often had prayed for them, and told the children that she wanted them to meet her in heaven, she also said that two of them was not here but for them to meet her there too and told us to tell them, she said that she wouldnot see them again for they were far away, very true was it for they did not get home untill she was no more, they got home Friday night and she was buried yesterday. You will please excuse me for not writing yesterday. I got a friend to write two letters yesterday but in the confus- -ion I forgot to mention to her about you there- -fore it wasnot done. The rest of the family are tolerably well at present, and hope that you all are in the full enjoyment of health. You will please write to me soon. Give our respects to all and accept of the same yourself, Nothing more But remain your affectionate Brother Daniel Hilerman
