Jane Marsha Dear Brothers & Sisters your kind letter came to hand to day which gave me much pleasure to hear that you was all well we will not have the pleasure of seeing Aunt Betsy at the association as she is gone to Charleston I was sorry that you will not give me the information that I desired with regard to [J?] HH going to the association one of my friends sent me word last Sunday to look [J?] HH by all means turn to [?] letter and you will see the rest of mine </span></p>

<p><span font-size="medium">Oak Land Hill August 10th 1/54 Dear Sister I avail my self of the present opportunity of addressing a few lines to you to let you know that we are all well but [?] she has had the tooth ache very bad for the last week she is a little better to day We received your letter to day and was quite happy to hear you was all well I have not had the pleasure of entertaining any [?] from Rockbridge yet I think you are trying to tantalize me but you had better not do not divulge any secret for fear you will be found out David is laboring under a great mistake I think the [?] better weigh his ideas well</span></p>
