Fruit Grove Feb 17th 1867 Dear Frank The roads are so bad that Pa will spend the night with a friend in the neighborhood of Middle brook and be able to get back tomorrow night. I hope he will not put you to the trouble of going to Staunton Tuesday again. guess the documents will be all right by tomorrow night. I received your letter day before yesterday and am sorry indeed that none of the family can come, had expected John and Siddie anyhow. You authorize me to invite some of my friends. and wish to know who will come. of our family I have invited Sister (Mrs Mc). Marie Steele Paxton + Pa. They will go. As Martin was obliged to decline waiting on you on account of a buggy, he will go with them on horseback. I extended your invitation to my family, and the above named are all that are going. I thought you would like to see Martin and I knew he would be delighted to [?] We are all delighted to hear that Mr John is all wright and will bring his melodeon. he can leave it until he brings his lady back. In regard to staying down a month, of course if you wish it, I will do it as “you will, shall be my pleasure.” I had not thought of staying more than two or three weeks; but know that it is best that I stay longer as the roads are so miserable now I am afraid we will stick in the mud Friday
