I had letter from [Cameru?], Judy and Laura all telling me of Bob’s untimely death. Words just fail me when I althought to write you a letter of sympathy, as I realize how utterly empty words seemed at a time like this, but from the bottom of my heart I just want you to know how very, very, distressed I am over it, and how much I’m thinking about you and Nancy: if only friends could really do something for you!! I saw Bob in M.T.R. the week before I left and I had never seen him when he looked better or happier. It just doesn’t seem possible. Please know that I’m thinking about and only wish there was something I could do.
