<p><span font-size="medium">Constitution of the bible Society. Article 1st. This Society shall be called the Cripple Creek Bible Society. The object of this Society shall to increase the number of bibles by sale and gift among the people in the neighborhood, and in as wide a circuit as possible. And it shall be especially the object of this Society to see that there is a bible in every family. Article 2nd Officers The Officers of this society shall consist of a President, Vice President and Secretary. The Vice President shall also act as treasurer. Article 3d Duties of the Officers. It shall be the duty of the president to preside and keep order in the society, to bring before the society all business that in important and to do all he can in the way he thinks best to accomplish the object for which the society is formed. He shall hold his office for one year. It shall be his duty to see that the bibles are distributed.</span></p>

[S] Brawly, Dr. Sir We had you cloth colored some time ago, but as the chain took was very light + showed a good deal, we thought best to color again by another process. We can not color every piece in this way at the customary price, as it takes much more time + material, than the price will justify. In future if you have any cloth made, that is to be colored, you should have the warp colored a very dark purple, with shumac or bark, as that will take a black better than a [copperas] + will answer by coloring one time.
