Do you remember? I am getting out with the Dial press in the fall an anthology of the important contemporary VA poets. And I think it would add much charm to my volume if I could have a cut of yours as a frontspiece. I have so very little to spend (I suspect you have heard such a cry before, these days!) that I should be willing to use something you have on hand, for you see in a collection of the kind I am making, almost any rural scene would so as well as another. I love the negro cabin with the crooked fence. Could that be used? Or what would you suggest? The enclosed will be clearer to you than it is to me, but I presume MacVeagh means that the picture that is to be printed within covers shall also be shown on the jacket? Would this cost extra? Or should I have the use of the one cut for both jacket and frontspiece? I don’t know the usage in such matters at all. May I hear from you at your very earliest convenience? For you will see from the letter I send, that Mr. MacVeagh wants to get things moving.
