It is the first I have had since the one dated 21st Ult. I am glad to know that you are all so well. I am still enjoying good health. I think I have got over the Chills &amp;amp; fever for this season. Everything is exceedingly dull here, no news of anykind. We however have good comfortable quarters and are living very well. I had a letter from Martin this evening_ written the 31st Ult. He was well, but says they had some pretty hard marching. They were at the same place that he was when he wrote to you. Bealton Stations. I think I can disperse of the ballance [sic] of that Minesota [sic] land this Winter. If I can, our Western&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;</text>

We have sent to Baltimore for a large cooking stove. when we get it here, we will be able to live just as well a[s] at a hotel. We can get plenty of buckwheat often &amp;amp; Corn meal here. We have an excellent cook. He was once Steam boat cook on the Ohio river. We live now very well- have fresh beef &amp;amp; Pork, Turkey, Chickens, Geese, Ducks &amp;amp;c._ not all at once however, but that consti- tutes about our Change in Meats. We put good butter, but have to pay 40 cts. Per lb. Our boarding will cost us about $15 or $16 per month. I should like very much to pay you a visit this winter, but it will be out of my power, as there is at least a dozen Officers to go yet before it will Come my&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;</text>

                  <text>The Isaiah Conley Civil War Correspondence and Research Materials includes two series of primary and secondary sources. Series I: Letters, Transcripts, and Narratives, includes 98 letters written by Isaiah Conley to his wife during his service in the 101st Pennsylvania Regiment between 1861 and 1865. This series also has unpublished and published versions of Conley's escape from Confederate captivity. Series II: Research Materials contains correspondence, photocopies, articles, maps, and research files for a history of the 101st Regiment, Pennsylvania Infantry that was planned, but never completed, by a previous owner. This series dates from 1980s through the early 2000s.</text>
