    <dcterms:description><![CDATA[Dr. Robert Green, born in Johns Island, South Carolina, grew up in the Gullah-Geechee community. His parents nurtured his natural curiosity and analytical skills. Excelling in science and math, Green attended magnet schools before majoring in chemistry at Morehouse College. His passion for problem-solving and chemistry led him to Purdue University for a master’s in chemistry and later to the University of South Carolina for a Ph.D. in inorganic and materials chemistry.<br />

Green&#039;s career includes teaching high school and college, where he gained a deep appreciation for the art of teaching. He became a professor and later the chair of the Department of Physical Sciences at Alabama State University. Green&#039;s journey highlights the challenges faced by Black students in predominantly white institutions, the importance of support networks, and the need for diversity in STEM.]]></dcterms:description>
