It was grand that you could see Sgt Monroe and Capt Armillinis - I hope too that they can come to see us after their hospitalization is over - I can well imagine what their presence added to the ceremony. Frances also said that there is a very great doubt about the report of Cuttler’s death - I sincerly hope Tops was wrong for he more than any of the others is the one I want to see and talk to. We learned yesterday that the 1st Army will also be in the first in the Pacific as it was all the way across France and Germany - it is heartbreaking to me to think those fellows are going to fight the Japs also - surely they have done enough for their country to earn peace and security the rest of their lives. However I understand that the units who did most of the fighting will be replaced. Our C.O. of Casu is leaving soon and Tomorrow night we are giving him a party - should be some party since its costing us each $10 - starts out with cocktail at 5 - dinner at 6 and a dance at 7. Surely hate to see him go for he is a fine fellow.
