The candy was very good&lt;br /&gt; and I with all the members of the tent&lt;br /&gt; enjoyed it very much.&lt;br /&gt; I was sorry that you had not&lt;br /&gt; called the bank to see how much money&lt;br /&gt; I had and if my check has been sent&lt;br /&gt; this month. There is no way for me to&lt;br /&gt; tell if the finiance department sent my&lt;br /&gt; check to the bank unless you find out&lt;br /&gt; and tell me. It would be a great help&lt;br /&gt; to me if you would phone the bank and see&lt;br /&gt; if they had a deposit for my checking account&lt;br /&gt; for the month of February (pay for them) and&lt;br /&gt; the amount and write me. &lt;br /&gt; I do not know wheather I told you or&lt;br /&gt; not but the 119th has been exspecting to &lt;br /&gt; move out and bivouack for a period of&lt;br /&gt; ten days and of course we are rather &lt;br /&gt; unsettled. For the last few days it has&lt;br /&gt; been very warm and I went swimming&lt;br /&gt; this afternooning. Camp Blanding sourands&lt;br /&gt; a fresh water lake so we have a very&lt;br /&gt; nice place to swim; the only trouble&lt;br /&gt; is we don’t have enough free time. &lt;br /&gt; Well the call to move out has&lt;br /&gt; come through. &lt;br /&gt; Love&lt;br /&gt; Jimmie&lt;/p&gt;</text>

                  <text>Jimmie W. Monteith, Jr. (1919-1944) was a Lieutenant in the army during World War II. He served his country bravely and was killed on the beaches of Normandy during the D-Day invasion of 1944. He was posthumously awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor. Collection consists primarily of his letters home during World War II. Also includes letters of condolence sent to the family following his death, congratulatory letters for being awarded the Medal of Honor, newspaper clippings, and photographs. Collection also contains the correspondence of his brother, Robert P. Monteith, letters of sympathy following the death of his brother and his father, Jimmie Sr., as well as other letters to and from some of his family members. In addition, there are the letters and notes of John Coulter, who wrote a biography about Monteith.</text>
