This collection includes materials included in an 1997 online exhibit created for the 125th anniversary of the university. The original exhibit was a series of webpages with images, digitized text, maps, newspaper clippings, and more. In the course of migrating the exhibit to a newer platform, digitized items were moved to this collection. In some cases, text-based pages were captured as pdf files and included in this collection.

The photograph collection at Special Collections consists primarily of historical photographs of Virginia Tech, dating back to the 1890s. Subjects include, but are not limited to: athletics, the Corps of Cadets, campus views and buildings, events and celebrations, Agricultural Extension sites/work, and candid images of students and campus groups. A alphabetically organized photograph collection of faculty and staff from the university is maintained separately.
The collection is also home to historic images of Blacksburg, Montgomery County, the New River Valley, and Southwest Virginia in general. Subjects include, but are not limited to: historic sites and buildings, Blacksburg views and buildings, scenes from surrounding towns/cities/counties, agriculture activities, and candid images of people.

This part of the 125th Anniversary Collection relates to the Board of Visitors (BoV) and includes photographs of Boards and individual rectors, pdfs of text about the history of the Board, and pdfs of several newspaper articles about the Board of Visitors from local newspapers.
This collection includes materials included in an 1997 online exhibit created for the 125th anniversary of the university. The original exhibit was a series of webpages with images, digitized text, maps, newspaper clippings, and more. In the course of migrating the exhibit to a newer platform, digitized items were moved to this collection. In some cases, text-based pages were captured as pdf files and included in this collection.

This part of the 125th Anniversary Collection relates to the Board of Visitors (BoV) and includes photographs of Boards and individual rectors, pdfs of text about the history of the Board, and pdfs of several newspaper articles about the Board of Visitors from local newspapers.
This collection includes materials included in an 1997 online exhibit created for the 125th anniversary of the university. The original exhibit was a series of webpages with images, digitized text, maps, newspaper clippings, and more. In the course of migrating the exhibit to a newer platform, digitized items were moved to this collection. In some cases, text-based pages were captured as pdf files and included in this collection.

The Board of Visitors of the Virginia Polytechnic Institute who on Tuesday, June 27, assumed the administrative control of the Radford College which under the acts of its consolidation with the Virginia Polytechnic Institute became the Woman's Division of the Virginia Polytechnic Institute. There was a full attendance of the board at the meeting on Tuesday, including the four women recently appointed by Governor Darden to the board. They are left to right: Dr. Dabney S. Furr, Roanoke; Samuel D. Preston, Winchester; Oscar H. Smith III, Norfolk; Charles H. Reed, Chesterfield; Granville M. Read, Forest; W. H. Burruss, Lynchburg; Vernon G. Eberwine, Suffolk. Eberwine was re-elected rector at the meeting. Elected to the executive committee with Eberwine were Furr, Moffett, Mrs. McConnell and Reed. Paul Mellon of Upperville and Dowell J. This part of the 125th Anniversary Collection relates to the Board of Visitors (BoV) and includes photographs of Boards and individual rectors, pdfs of text about the history of the Board, and pdfs of several newspaper articles about the Board of Visitors from local newspapers.
This collection includes materials included in an 1997 online exhibit created for the 125th anniversary of the university. The original exhibit was a series of webpages with images, digitized text, maps, newspaper clippings, and more. In the course of migrating the exhibit to a newer platform, digitized items were moved to this collection. In some cases, text-based pages were captured as pdf files and included in this collection.

This part of the 125th Anniversary Collection relates to the Board of Visitors (BoV) and includes photographs of Boards and individual rectors, pdfs of text about the history of the Board, and pdfs of several newspaper articles about the Board of Visitors from local newspapers.
This collection includes materials included in an 1997 online exhibit created for the 125th anniversary of the university. The original exhibit was a series of webpages with images, digitized text, maps, newspaper clippings, and more. In the course of migrating the exhibit to a newer platform, digitized items were moved to this collection. In some cases, text-based pages were captured as pdf files and included in this collection.
