He attended Virginia Tech and graduated in 1965, majoring in Agronomy. In this interview, he talks about his time at Virginia Tech, including his infamous rat year and the German club. After graduating, he was assigned to Ft. Leonard Wood where he decided to get a master’s and PhD in soil science from Iowa State while in the military.
