Dr. Mendenhall's career journey includes earning her Ph.D. from Clark Atlanta University, where she worked on synthetic DNA and nanobiotechnology. She further advanced her research at Cornell University and Georgia Tech, focusing on biomedical engineering. Now a tenured professor at Morehouse College, she mentors students and emphasizes the importance of continual learning and persistence.
