Description
This collection consists of oral history interviews conducted in 2021 with Black researchers. Beginning in 2021, graduate students supported by Virginia Tech's Center for Communicating Science interviewed Black professionals engaged in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) research, asking questions about narrators’ research, career paths, advice to younger researchers, joys, frustrations, barriers, and childhood experiences. Interviews were conducted by Virginia Tech graduate students Amber Wendler, Daniel Smith, Korin Jones, Kregg Quarles, and Mika Pagani under the direction of Carrie Kroehler and Patty Raun.
