Dr. Pascale Schaaba Guiton, grew up in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, before moving to the United States at 18. She currently serves as an assistant professor of biological sciences at Santa Clara University, where her research focuses on exploring regulatory mechanisms of cellular differentiation and identifying virulence determinants. Despite facing cultural and educational challenges upon moving to the U.S., she excelled in her studies, particularly in organic chemistry, under the mentorship of supportive professors at Georgia State University. She pursued her Ph.D. at Washington University in St. Louis and postdoctoral work at Stanford University, leading her into academia,
