City Council
Rupert Cutler was elected to the Roanoke City Council in 2002. He ran on a platform of environmental sustainability and improvement of the form and function of the city.
Dr. Cutler was instrumental in a number of projects while on City Council, including the Mill Mountain Easement Project.
Dr. Cutler also worked on the intiative to demolish Victory Stadium in Roanoke and replace it with a more functional community space.
Dr. Cutler worked to establish a stormwater utility in the city of Roanoke to deal with periodic street flooding in the area.
When Dr. Cutler left the City Council at the end of his term in 2006, he received this commendation for his work.
