Home Goods
After the war, Parsons redirected the company's industrial capacity to produce several products for the home. The most successful of these was the Pureaire Kitchen, which essentially consisted of a fridge, stove, oven, sink, and cabinets in a closet with a closed air system that stowed away into a wall. Supposedly you could set something to cook and close the doors, and the smells would not escape into the home. It was meant to be the modern, healthy kitchen of the future, and the design and advertisements for the product reflect this hope.
