Solitude - Historical Photograph Collection
Special Collections and University Archives (SCUA) holds a historical photograph collection with more than 60,000 images, a portion of which have been digitized. Digitized photographs of Solitude in particular include the record of the building and its many changes and uses over time, additions and renovations, and the Duck Pond and nearby campus areas. A collection of images relating to artifacts (collected by Earl Palmer) that have been housed in Solitude are featured in the next part of the online exhibit.
The original online exhibit included a small selection of images relating to Solitude from the Historical Photograph Collection. We have expanded that here to include all digitized images of Solitude in that collection. They are organized into multiple sets of images for browsing: exterior images of Solitude and the surrounding area (in particular the Duck Pond), the outbuildings, interior images of the house itself, and aerial views and plans.
