Individuals & Families

In addition to the community groups facilitating expressions of support and condolence for their members, a vast community of individual people and families also reached out. These people may have been part of larger communities that expressed support or they may have felt compelled to reach out on their own. Either way, they chose to send individual expressions of how the events at Virginia Tech affected them or of their enduring support for the Virginia Tech community. Whether they were part of a larger organization or not, they were all part of the global human community - a community that reached out in shock, support, and empathy in response to the events of April 16, 2007.
