"Lomax on Executors."

John Tayloe Lomax was a law professor from Virginia who emphasized the teaching of law via textbooks rather than lectures, a method which Woods appears to have followed here. The book that Woods refers to here was likely Lomax’s book Treatise on the Law of Executors and Administrators Generally in Use in the United States, first published in 1841.
