"Fountain E Pitts"

Fountain E. Pitts (1808-1874) was a Methodist preacher and missionary based out of Tennessee. Pitts served as a chaplain for the Confederate 11th Tennessee regiment for six months before resigning in May of 1862 to raise the 61st Tennessee Mounted Infantry where he served a colonel from September of 1862 until his retirement in August of 1864.
