"Battle of Fort Sumpter"
The Battle of Fort Sumter erupted following the American government’s attempt to restock the soldiers inside the fort in the middle of Charleston harbor. After a 34 hour siege, the federal troops finally surrendered and the fort fell into Confederate hands. While no one was killed in this battle, it sparked Lincoln’s call for troops to put down the rebellion and the last four Southern states’ decision to secede.
