"Poindexter"

This may refer to James Preston Poindexter (1819-1907), who was an African American abolitionist and Baptist preacher based out of Columbus, Ohio. He was a supporter of the Underground Railroad, providing supplies to slaves escaping through Ohio into Canada, and was highly involved in politics in Columbus both before and after the war.
